Whilst visiting the Japanese Garden in Toowoomba, I was totally captivated by the stunning spectacle of vibrantly coloured ducks set against brilliant reds of a vermillion bridge being reflected strongly on the waters which surrounded the ducks with red ripples. I was intent on letting the water tell the story of its own movement through ripples and the motion of the ducks while letting the strong reflections of the vermillion bridge remain causing the strong red background on the water. Composition always makes the ducks the hero of this painting.
