Letting the water tell the story through ripples which show the ducks seemingly frozen in motion as they glide across the pond. Emerald green heads and vibrant colours reflect brilliantly on the water with only the trailing ripples to show their movement. Texture effects applied with palette knife for ducks’ emerald green heads and for the water beneath and behind them (Wash area), movement as they make their way across the pond. Composition always makes the ducks the hero of this painting.
