‘Cees Sliedrecht-Look outside the chair’

Cees Sliedrecht reclines into his favourite throne like chair and gazes out at the world as he muses some idea he is grappling with. Moustache twirling seems to help creative thoughts evolve and flow into his consciousness. The artist and the man "Cees Sliedrecht" is who I wanted to capture in my own way and by painting the portrait larger than life seems to be in keeping with this larger-than-life man. The ornate chair represented his thrown and in the late afternoon light, made a wonderful prop that said so much about him. The pièce de résistance was the tweaking of the moustache as it seemed to say so much about his character and his ways
